Join us for Garden Waves, an exclusive invitation-only, immersive and healing experience celebrating sound, mindfulness and tradition at the USC Pacific Asia Museum.
Garden Waves, composed by Michael and Jahna Perricone, is the Pacific Asia Museum’s first immersive sound installation. The composition pleases the senses and heals the mind/body through the transformative frequency tones of Antique Himalayan singing bowls (300-600 yrs old), world instruments and melody.
Playing throughout the courtyard, Garden Waves bridges the traditional technology of ancient sound-healing with our modern science-based understanding of it’s curative properties.
Event Highlights:
Introduction: A brief welcome by David Blair, Deputy Director of USC Museums.
Mindful Soundscape Soundbath: Michael and Jahna Perricone will perform a short ‘transformance’ of their hour-long binaural beat-infused composition, designed to foster healing, enjoyment and connection. Guests will receive a free download of ‘Garden Waves’ to enjoy beyond the event.
Garden Listening Experience: Following the soundbath, guests can spend twenty minutes in the museum’s serene courtyard, listening to the composition through earbuds or speakers. This reflective time allows for a deep connection with the space and the music.
Museum Galleries: Visitors are invited to visit the exhibition Cai Guo-Qiang: A Material Odyssey, an exhibition that fills all of the museums galleries.
Light refreshments will be provided.
